Bedgebury Camping is close to fishing lakes

If you plan on staying at Bedgebury Camping in Goudhurst but also fancy a relaxing day out in the Weald Kent while you are here, perhaps a day's fishing is the answer. There are a number of options available in the local area, with some allowing children’s fishing also.  The following options are the closest to our campsite.

 
 

Elphicks Fishery

This fishery is located about two miles from Bedgebury Camping.  It is a seven lake coarse fishing complex stocked with Carp, Tench, Perch and Wels Catfish and offers the opportunity of fishing on a day ticket or a session basis.

Each lake has its own parking with easy access to the ‘all-weather’ swims.

The Fishery Lodge provides drinks and snacks and is also able to offer bait and tackle for sale.   There is access for disabled anglers to a number of the lakes.   A large car park is available.

Hawkhurst Fish Farm

Around 15 minutes’ drive from Bedgebury Camping near the East Sussex border, Hawkhurst Fish Farm offers enjoyment for all types and age of angler.  Comprising four main lakes, whether you are seriously into the sport, like a bit of competitive fishing or prefer a more laid back approach, this peaceful haven in the corner of Kent is worth a visit.  It also has Junior Lakes for the youngsters to have a go but children will need the supervision of an adult over 21 years of age if they want to take part.

There is the Waterside Café overlooking the main lake ready to serve you with breakfasts, lunches, cakes and cream teas.

Hartley Lands Farm Fishery

At Hartley Lands Farm Fishery based in Cranbrook, around 10 minutes’ drive from Bedgebury Camping, you will find eight fishing lakes.  Among the fish stocked in its waters are Carp, Tench, Bream, Rudd, Roach and Perch.  The lakes range from small ponds surrounded by shrubbery or on the edge of woods, to large open expanses of water.

Prices vary.  Junior rates are available.  Facilities include disabled access.

Bewl Water

Bewl Water is the largest reservoir in the South East of England and is situated a few minutes along the A21.  It is also one of the UK’s finest trout fisheries and covers some 770 acres.  On offer is boat fishing as well as bank fishing which is accessible from over half the reservoir’s 17 mile perimeter and there are secluded and sheltered fishing spots, as well are more open areas.  Pike fly-fishing from boats is also allowed at Bewl Water. 

There is a fishing lodge on site which provides tackle, flies, bait and appropriate waterproof clothing.

For groups of 4-6, there is also the chance to charter your own fishing boat, which comes equipped with on-board refreshments.  The price also includes all equipment and tackle.

Special junior ticket prices are available.

Bedgebury Camping is situated in Kent and provides back to basics camping with campfires.  It can accommodate large and small group camping within its acres of fields.
